[Update 1 Nov 2023] Official images of the “Black” and “White” colorways of the BLACK COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Tennis Classic have emerged, thanks to Sole Retriever. Additionally, a global release have been announced for November although a firm date hasn’t been disclosed. But stay tuned! It should surface in the coming days.

Rei Kawakubo’s many diffusion lines has asserted different perspectives of her design philosophy and through BLACK COMME des GARÇONS, her works with Nike certainly puts a refreshing take on her avant-garde style.

Setting aside her usual flamboyant take on silhouettes, simplicity is what seems to be the focus with her latest Swoosh offering. Arriving for Fall/Winter 2023, the duo brings back the Tennis Classic, a 1970-debuted model formerly known as Wimbledon.

Dressed in respective one tone colors of black and white, the pairs sees a full leather upper and rubber outsole construction. Subtle is a perfect way to describe its detailing with Swooshes and debossed “CDG” text on the heel tabs, while co-branding prints hit the bed of insoles.

Official release details are yet to be announced from either brands but do expect the pairs to hit shelves this year via Dover Street Market and selected retailers. In the meantime, we will keep you updated here.
