The NBA All-Star weekend which marks the midway point of every gruelling season is imminent. Come 20 February at Salt Lake City, Utah, the crème de la crème of the basketball world will play against each other in the name of fun, entertainment, and charity. Per tradition, Nike’s roster will get a commemorative, special edition to their latest signatures.

While new endorsers like Ja Morant have joined their ranks, it’s the veterans that will be first served. Namely serial All-Stars and former MVPs LeBron James, Giannis Antetekounmpo, and Kevin Durant.

Starting off with the King and team captain, who has more appearances in the event than all his Nike family combined at 19. The LeBron 20 will arrive in a Blue Lightning, Coconut Milk, and Iron Grey outfit. The hallmark LenoWeave upper is washed over with Sky Blue throughout with suede adding an elevated touch on the eyestays, tongue crown, and sockliner.

It’s equipped will all its usual regalia like the “XX” golden dubraes and the leather patch on the heel counter. Easily, its most distinct feature and deviation is the reverse Swoosh most commonly associated with the Zoom Freak series and Travis Scott.

Next in line is Kevin Durant and his KD 15. The silhouette has had some wild variations since its release last year and the MO stays with this one. Its color palette sees an interesting mix of Light Orewood Brown, Metallic Gold, Sundial, Sail, and Citron Tint. The breathable mesh upper is adorned with a marbleized finish, as do the TPU exoskeleton overlays and tongue adjacent. Personal branding elements all make their mark in a conspicuous orange like the “kd” on the tongue and “07” on the heel.

Completing the trio of hall-of-famers is fellow team captain Giannis Antetekounmpo. He isn’t the flashiest player on the court but he is effective, and so are his Zoom Freak 4. It will remain an intimidating figure on the hardwood with its Oxygen Purple, Space Purple, and Gridiron colors.

The tonal purples envelope over the fore of the upper and much of the sole unit below but uniformity breaks apart with the presence of Gridiron at the back, hellraising with lightning streaks. Some of its notable accoutrement comes in the form of the reverse Swoosh that sees a beclouded graphic through its translucent window.

All three pairs are reported to be released on Nike’s brick-and-click on 16 February, just days before the game. The LeBron 20 will go for US$200, the KD 15 for US$160, and the Zoom Freak 4 at US$130. Whether you intend to cop or not, see the pairs in action at the All-Star game.

Elsewhere, Nike Korea is set to release their own Cortez “SNKRS Day” in line with the celebration.
