New Balance has quietly dropped a pair of New Balance 991 MADE in UK “Black/Gray”, just before the year draws to a close.

2022 happens to be the 40th anniversary of New Balance’s Flimby Factory in the United Kingdom—where the MADE in UK line is manufactured—and this pair of New Balance 991 helps make the occasion sweeter by swapping mesh traditionally used on the shoe’s upper for Harris Tweed, another British legacy brand.

The New Balance 991 MADE in UK “Black/Gray” is modeled after the traditional British work jacket—the Donkey Jacket. Black premium leather is overlaid over the toasty Harris Tweed upper, occasionally punctuated by subtle gray accents. Down below, the ABZORB sole unit appears in three shades of gray.

Closing out a strong year of releases and collabs for the house, this pair of special edition NB 991 is already available in certain international markets for US$260.
