It’s been summer all year long for the 1906R having had its time in the sun throughout 2022. In recent years, it’s found itself a sweet spot on the market’s palate for the—now archaic term—”dad shoe”. Having been subsumed into the inline, ultra popular Protection Pack, taken on as a canvas for collaborators; the model might have reached its apex, and its time at the vanguard of New Balance’s offerings will continue into 2023, with the arrival of three new colorways.

Uniformity is the name of the game when it comes to the design concept for these upcoming pairs. Exquisitely called “Titanium”, “Mindful Grey”, and “Nightwatch Green”; the trio embodies a singular color scheme dressed in its titular hues. All three carrying the same genes, sharing the same signature N-ergy shock-absorbing outsole, the TPU Stability Web, the ACTEVA LITE midsole, and the ABZORB SBS heel cushioning.

It’s long-transcended its performance running shoe pedigree and has since become a quintessential lifestyle sneaker. The Titanium colorway features a full grey makeup from the mesh base layer, the suede overlays, the N-Lock laces on the profiles, as well as the earlier-mentioned heel cage. With the same color blocking, the Mindful Grey arrives in (surprisingly) beige, and Nightwatch Green in (unsurprisingly) green.

A release date hasn’t been disclosed by New Balance but expect them to be priced the same as previous iterations at US$150.

In other news under the Boston shoemaker’s umbrella, atmos’ upcoming New Balance “Lunar New Year” collection might be worthy of attention.
