There’re many holidays throughout the year, but none commands the same attention from brands the same way that Lunar New Year does. Indeed it is the Year of the Rabbit as many of New Balance’s contemporaries have produced many of their own inspired, commemorative compositions. Following their own white rabbit, atmos calls on the Boston shoemaker’s vanguard offerings to produce a collection of four silhouettes and eight colorways, that’s uniquely their own, bold enough to deviate from the staple of reds and golds.

The first subsumed is the classic 550 clad holistically in beige for one, and cream on the other. The latter adorned with burgundy laces that will be a common motif between the pack. Just as mentioned, it also marks the laces of the 2002R. The iteration is similar to the brand’s hallmark Protection Pack with disparate suede overlays engulfing the upper, leaving exposed the mesh base layer. A mix of greyscale envelopes the fore of the pair with sepia tones at the rear.

Next in the lineup is the 90/60, coupled together with one arriving in brown, the other off-white. Both retain their hallmark features with the former bearing a more uniform construction with the laces complementing the suede overlays. The latter similar, save for the laces which stands out from the rest of the shoe with the pack-staple burgundy.

The aforementioned color, where it was limited as a motif on the rest of the collection, becomes the centerpiece for the 574. It adorns most of the silhouette bar the heel where a sail suede construction halts the proliferation. The alternate to the pair sees a singular beige embodying the upper.

The collection is scheduled to drop on 2 January, 2023 on atmos. While information is scant at the time of writing, more should be on the way with the release imminent.
