atmos and ASICS have collaborated on so many pairs together this year alone that their names are almost synonymous. More often that not, one name doesn’t make the news without the other. For one final effort to close out the year, they craft one for Japanese reggae artist RED SPIDER. It was an eventuality that he’ll catch a signature shoe in his web, being an ardent sneakerhead with a dedicated account to his passion.

Like its namesake, the GEL LYTE III comes dressed in red, standing in strong contrast against the black base layer. Paisley bandana patterns adorn the shoe on the overlays that proliferates the quarter, the eyestays, as well as the exterior lining.

On the split-tongue, it shares real estate with black that traverses down the medial eyestays. A disparate design concept is prevalent on the pair as seen on the laces, red on one pair, black the other. From the mudguard to the heel, these colors liberally alternate each other creating a unique familiarity that never quite settles. As an overt nod, a red spider embroidery finds its way over to the medial mudguard.

A raffle is currently open over at atmos, at the time of writing until 22 December, 8:59 PM (JST). The winners will be announced the next day at 9 AM, 23 December. If you’re getting the pair, expect to coffer JPY17,600 (~US$132) come D-Day.

Elsewhere, atmos is preparing to unveil its New Balance “Lunar New Year” collection in a few weeks.
