Global brand with German roots, Birkenstock, is well renowned for its summertime comfort, but in fact, has pushed its limits to provide footwear year-round. Take the recent release of the fur-lined Kyoto, a relatively latest design inspired by the classic Zürich model. In conjunction with Fall/Winter 2022, New York-based brand, Kith, teams up with a collaboration, “Kyoto Shearling”, that features 2 easy-to-wear colorways, “Taupe” and “Mink”.

At first glance, it’s evident that the silhouette was designed with winter in mind. The upper is composed of nubuck and suede leather with shearling liner to provide insulation. The buckled straps of the Zürich sandal, are swapped out for the more comfortable velcro straps which has the iconic Kith debossed monogram in nubuck leather. The hook and loop closure is individually adjustable. To finalise the look, The footbed is anatomically shaped cork-latex with an EVA outsole.

Kith x Birkenstock is now available on Kith’s official website and brand app for US$275 and is selling like hotcakes.
