Did you know that the Chinatown in San Francisco was established in 1848? This makes it the oldest Chinatown in North America and, today, it is also the largest of its kind outside of Asia. In a special edition release, Nike is honoring the historic neighborhood with its iconic Air Force 1 model in a “San Francisco Chinatown” colorway.

Appearing in a predominantly-white upper, made out of the AF1’s signature buttery leather, the sneaker is adorned with details that nod to Chinese culture. A pink-to-white gradient color can be spotted on the Swoosh, midsole and tongue; while the lateral heel is debossed with a subtle lotus flower (we can’t help but think of those Chinese longevity peach buns which sport similar colors).

In a direct nod to Chinatown San Francisco, the district’s Chinese name Jiu Jin Shan is embroidered on the tongue label in gold, and is also printed, complete with a blooming lotus graphic, on the insole.

No release date or official images are available as of the time of writing, so enjoy these early first looks, courtesy of @woganwodeyang, as we continue to bring you the latest on this Nike Air Force 1 Low “San Francisco”.
