It looks like sashiko stitching, a type of Japanese embroidery that Nike has previously deployed on sneakers, is having a comeback moment. Following yesterday’s Dunk Low “Industrial Blue”, a pair of Nike Air Force 1 featuring said traditional stitching has surfaced.

Named the Air Force 1 “Sashiko”, Nike has decided to reinterpret the famous stitching style on its iconic Bruce Kilgore-designed’s silhouette in a modern way—apart from the traditional white-on-indigo patchwork at the heel-collar area, threads in neon green and orange are used sparingly all over the grey suede upper, from the perforations on the forefoot to the lateral and media sides.

More nods to sashiko stitching can be found via the tongue pull tab and the insole, both featuring various sashiko style stitches and motifs. Style code and pricing details are not available as of the time of writing, so keep your eyes peeled as we bring you more updates on this pair of Nike Air Force 1 “Sashiko”.
