There’s no footwear experiencing as much ubiquity as the Nike Dunk Low in the status quo. While the monochromatic “Panda” and its reverse reigns above its contemporaries, the silhouette has been propped over the easel and used as a canvas by a plethora of brands and industries. Collaborations on the Dunks have come from even beyond the lifestyle sphere with food companies adding their own strokes like the highly-coveted Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Dunkys and the rumored Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low.

Patent leather, iridescent textile as seen on the “Iridescent Royal Blue”, experimental makeups and material have made their mark on this archetypal design, this time, it gets elevated with a more artisanal motif.

“Summit White” serves as the base of this iteration with “Industrial Blue” denim overlays. The bicolored makeup adorn the canvas textile that forms the entirety of the upper and all its encompassing layers, from the Swoosh, toebox, etc. From a less discerning eye it may seem like a standard, but actually carries an accoutrement by way of the artisanal Sashiko stitching on the heel and toebox.

There currently is no release date announced yet but there’s reason to be optimistic that it could be well-within the year. They’re suspected to go for US$120 on SNKRS when the drop does happen.

If you like the Sashiko motif, check out adidas’ take on it with the adidas Forum Low “Sashiko”.
