Understated Charm: Nike Dresses the Dunk Low in Tonal Greys
Nike's version of a tonal grey sneaker.
Many things have been said about Nike’s black-and-white Dunk Lows, or more commonly known as the Pandas, but that didn’t prevent the Nike classic from going on to capture the attention of a new generation of sneaker lovers. Herein lies the timeless appeal of the Nike Dunk Low—designed by Peter Moore and first introduced in 1985.
The Dunk Low has a simple and classic design, and it is exactly this feature that allows for the endless possibilities in colorblocking and reinterpretation. Coming up next is a pair that goes for a more understated look. This pair of Nike Dunk Low deviates from the Swoosh’s recent strategy of over-the-top embellishments and opts for a clean Wolf Grey and White color palette.
The tumbled leather upper is rendered in Wolf Grey while overlays in a lighter shade of grey wrap around the shoe. In a similar vein, the sole unit comprises two hues of grey; while the nylon tongue’s grey has more of a bluish tinge. We can definitely see this understated pair in our rotation.
