This Nike Air Force 1 “NOLA” Celebrates the Glitterati of New Orleans
Glitter Swoosh — need I say more?
Given how versatile the classic Air Force 1 silhouette is, it is no wonder that the Nike team often utilises the model to pay homage to various iconic places or events. Among these tributes are also City Packs, which sees the AF1 referencing cities across the world, aligning well with desires to travel and the opening up of countries as the pandemic wanes.
The latest Nike Air Force 1 “NOLA” is one such city-inspired look, specifically to the glitz of New Orleans, Louisiana (or also known as NOLA). Though not as associated with glamor as Beverly Hills or Malibu, the city exudes luxe in a quiet manner and is home to celebrities like Lil Wayne, John Goodman and Master P.
The Air Force 1 draws on the area’s extravagance and introduces Swooshes covered in silver glitter that is eye-catching from any angle. Furthermore, metallic gold accents are featured on the lace loops, heels and aglet. This gilded look also pipes the Swoosh for an added opulence. To nail The Big Easy references, the lateral heels have also been stamped with the words “NOLA” in gold, with the “L” shaped like map’s view of Louisiana. The lace dubraes also sport “504” — New Orleans’ area code.
This Nike Air Force 1 “NOLA” will be dropping on 27 October 2022 and will retail for US$150. It will come in Men’s and Grade School sizing.
