nanamica Brings Weather Resistance to the PUMA Suede VTG
Suede's great — until it gets wet. Lucky for us, nanamica is infusing a waterproof layer of GORE-TEX to PUMA's Suede VTG for added protection against rainy days.
There are many things that could go wrong on a rainy day — you could forget your umbrella, you could slip due to an unsuspecting puddle on the floor, or you could get your suede shoes drenched and essentially ruined. Shoes with suede uppers are always a risky choice when rainy season hits, and the PUMA Suede VTGs are no exception. Constructed with velvety suede, they are gorgeous classics that are perhaps better for indoor activities than trudging in the unpredictable outdoors.
That is until the silhouette’s watershed collaborative meeting with Japanese label nanamica. Specialising in performance gear that’s understated, chic and never tacky, the brand lines PUMA’s timeless suede design with a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane.
On the visual front, the weather resistant upgrade comes in the form of two tonal, neutral palette that’s expected from nanamica. The first is an all-over deep “Parisian Night” navy paired with a tumbled midsole and classic flat laces. For those that prefer a more pastel palette, a “Vintage Khaki” beige is also available. Both pairs finishes with nanamica’s logo debossed on the heels and PUMA’s standard vector on the sole.
This nanamica x PUMA Suede VTG collaboration is slated for release on 27 August on nanamica’s website. They’ll retail for USD$150 per pair. In the meantime, why not
The Nanamica x PUMA Suede VTG releases on Saturday, August 27 at Nanamica stores and on the brand’s website. As we wait, why not check out this otherworldly PUMA MB.01?
