The Air Jordan 13 “Playoffs” Comes Out of Retirement in ’23
The AJ13 will return in 2023 to coincide with the NBA All-Star Weekend.
First debuting in the 1998 All-Star Game, the “Playoffs” were the shoes His Airness wore through most of his final playoff run. Designed by Tinker Hatfield (whom you could arguably call the “Michael Jordan” of sneaker design), they were robbed of their place in the most iconic moment in basketball history if Jordan hadn’t decided in debuting the 14s instead in Game 6 of the Finals, the game where Michael took “The Last Shot” of his career as a Chicago Bull.
The Playoffs will receive a retro release for the second time in 2023. This offering will be accompanied by an OG-styled packaging and will be the closest retro to the original to-date. Dressed in black tumbled leather and matching suede overlays, it also features a holographic emblem on the lateral collar. The red Jumpman is accentuated by the yellow circle around it, and the vamp complemented by a “Jordan” tag. Making it court-ready are the white midsole and the red outsole.
There’ve been many Jordan releases as of late. Have you checked out some of the more interesting ones like the Air Jordan 1 Low “Inside Out”?
