Nike’s Dunk High “Chenille Swoosh” is a 7-Eleven-esque Green and Red
Nike Dunk High in "Chenille Swoosh" is a mix of green and red, reminiscent of chain 7-Eleven's signature colours.
Nike’s University series sees its sneakers redesigned into colour palettes that are similar to varsity jackets, and the latest of which is the Nike Dunk High “Chenille Swoosh”. The Chenille Swoosh name is not a new addition to the Nike family — in fact, it has had iterations as the Air Jordan 1, Dunk Low and Air Force 1. The “Chenille” suggests that the Swoosh is made from chenille yarn, an ultra-soft material usually used to make soft toys.
In the Dunk High rendition, the Chenille Swoosh is an eye-catching red trimmed with a deeper red. The use of Chenille here ties nicely to varsity jackets, which utilises a similar fluffy textile in their characteristic letterings. A white leather acts as a base to red mudguards, vamps and laces, along with a green heel and yellow eyestay. This colourway is reminiscent of the 7-Eleven x Nike SB Dunk Low, and has caused a buzz as to whether this is indeed a continuation to the collaboration.
As of now, no release date has been set by Nike, but the arrival of official pictures hints that a launch is on its way. It is highly probable that it will retail at the standard US$120.
