The elephant print accents on the Air Jordan 3 is easily one of Tinker Hatfield’s most ingenious ideas, easily making the model as recognizable and distinct as it is. Over the years, the pattern has been borrowed and reapplied onto other Air Jordan iterations, one of it being the hightop version of big brother, Air Jordan 1.

While it’s the taller sibling that usually gets the most attention, the Lows are experiencing more ubiquity in recent times. Considering the evolving palate and the silhouette’s versatility as a canvas, it has won over ardent fans and enthusiasts, men and women of all ages, gracing the feet of wearers who want ostentation on their footwear, and those who desire a casual aesthetic.

Then there’re people somewhere in between, who would find this variation a must-cop. A simple color scheme of black, grey, and white. The elephant motif, this time around, sees itself overlaid on the all-black base of the AJ1 Lows; from the mudguard through to the eyestays, and heels. The upper is built atop a white midsole, and black outsole.

At the time of writing, the only images available are the ones courtesy of Sole Retriever. It’s currently set for a 23rd June release next summer, along with a batch of Jordan roll-outs the Jumpman has planned for to take over the season. They’re expected to go on Nike brick-and-click stores with a price tag of US$140.

Here’s another shoe from the aforementioned summer roll-out in 2023, check out the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Celtics”.
