The new design of the “Air Jordan 2” is here, signaling the arrival of a new phase!!

During the 1986-87 NBA season, “Michael Jordan” made a full recovery from a broken foot the previous year and averaged an astounding 37.1 points per season, a career high. The Air Jordan 2, the only second generation signature shoe made in Italy, helped MJ win his first career scoring title. The AJ2 is a transitional shoe between the classic style and the high-tech sneaker, and the new AJ2 is the next step up in the series.

Based on the low-cut version that also existed in the original, the AJ2 is constructed with a black nubuck upper. The distinctive panel from the side to the heel features a pattern similar to that of the Air Jordan 3’s Elephant. The sail-colored tabs attached to the top of the panel are designed with hand-drawn arrows. The midsole is also covered in a rough suede-like material in the same raw color as the tab, creating an unprecedented and original atmosphere despite the subdued color block.

The AJ2 is a pair that foreshadows a new movement for the AJ2, which was brought back into the limelight in November 2021 during the life of Virgil Abloh, when a low-cut scanned reproduction of the original silhouette appeared in collaboration with “Off-White™”.
