Coming off of its half-century mark last year, the Nike Cortez has and always will be a staple for the Swoosh brand. Continuing its semicentennial celebrations into 2023, Nike isn’t letting up with new Cortez releases, with big collaborations such as the CLOT x Nike Cortez SP that debuted earlier this month.

Now, the Swoosh brand is adding another inline iteration to the lineup, with the appearance of an all-black colorway washing over the classic silhouette.

While this upcoming Nike Cortez ’23 “Triple Black” dulls in color compared to many of its predecessors, the highlight comes in the finer details. A smooth nubuck material is used as the base of its upper, while hairy suede adorns much of the overlays.

The traditional laces seem to be swapped out for reflective ones, and the same reflective material is reflected on the heel branding around the back end of the shoe. Rounding off the design is its speckled midsole, giving the otherwise tonal silhouette a slight pop of color.

You can’t really go wrong with an all-black sneaker, neither can you go wrong with a Cortez. This Nike Cortez ’23 “Triple Black” will drop sometime in the coming months at a RRP of US$100. Stay tuned as we’ll bring you the latest as soon we can.
