New Balance Drops Another Women’s Exclusive 550
More New Balance 550 incoming.
Ever since the New Balance 550 silhouette was revived and thrust into the forefront by Aimé Leon Dore and Teddy Santis, there’s been no lack of options of the low-top heritage sneaker in the market.
The primary allure of the New Balance 550 is its retro collegiate aesthetic and the Boston brand clearly knows this. These days, the 550s get pushed out in a ton of colorways and textures. Just yesterday, leaks of the latest Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 sneakers in a suede-and-canvas makeup surfaced.
Next up is a pair of women’s exclusive NB 550 in a white and purple colorway. Constructed with mesh and leather, the sneaker features a basic two-tone colorblocking, with white covering almost the whole shoe. Hits of dark purple can be spotted on the New Balance branding at the tongue and “N” logo and “550” insignia, as well as on parts of the outsole.
It is a pair without all the bells and whistles but does its job in honoring the basketball legacy of the 550. This pair of New Balance 550 “White and Purple” releases today in Japan exclusively at BEAUTY&YOUTH for JPY17,600 (~US$110).
