[Update 24 Aug] It seems the initial August 23rd drop was specific to the US. Nevertheless, sacai themselves have announced that the pair will be released on August 30th, 6 p.m. and on SNKRS on the 31st, 9 a.m., both in JST.

The launch will take place at their official brick and mortar stores, and at a special sacai drop site. The link to it will be revealed prior to the release date on their official Instagram Stories. [Update 12 Jul]: Official photos of the sacai x Nike Cortez 4.0 “OG” have surfaced! This pair of sneakers is dressed in white, varsity royal, varsity red. The sneaker’s sole unit is completely redesigned with an exposed Zoom Air Unit. The iconic profile swooshes overlay at the heel and collars gives a new twist to the silhouette. 

The popular collaboration sacai and Nike will be released a new model based on the classic model Cortez!!

This time, the tag-team between sacai and Nike started in 2015, and the collaboration has become so popular that almost all models are traded at pre-price. The collaboration’s distinctive double swoosh and stylish models have attracted many fashionistas as well as sneakerheads. From this collaboration comes new sneakers that could become a new popular product.

The leaked product is a new collaboration product based on the Cortez, a classic running shoe from Nike’s early days, which was released in 1972 and is known as a representative of low-tech sneakers with its simple, round shape and thick sole. In the collaboration with sacai, we have created a look where modern and classic coexist by attaching leather uppers and futuristic soles in the standard red/white/blue and chic navy/grey colors. The images were released on sacai’s official Instagram as part of their 2022 AW collection, so we can expect to see them on sale before the end of the year.
