The recent emergence of the Purple/Black Luffy deck has brought a card which was previously an afterthought into the metagame spotlight: the Roronoa Zoro card from Emperors in the New World [OP-09]. It’s a card that pairs perfectly with the deck’s Leader effect.

About Roronoa Zoro (Emperors in the New World [OP-09] OP09-076)

A card usually played in the early game, this Roronoa Zoro card requires the player to return two DON!! cards to the DON!! deck before allowing the player to ramp an active DON!! card. Returning those DON!! cards in turn sets off the Leader effect of the deck’s titular card from Emperors in the New World [OP-09], enabling the player to ramp an additional active DON!! as well as a rested DON!! card. In this way, the player is able to ramp three DON!! cards—two of which are active—after returning two.

For collectors, the most desirable version of this card will be the one awarded to top-16 finishers at upcoming Championship 25-26 Offline Regionals Season 1 tournaments. It features a Parallel Art illustration which isn’t on any card except for the tournament prize version. Additionally, the fact that the card in question is one awarded as a tournament prize adds prestige to it.

Release Details

Although this card has already been released in Japanese, the Championship 25-26 Offline Regionals Season 1 version of it will be an English-exclusive card. Additionally, its price won’t be known until the first copies make it to the open market. Stay with us for more on that.
