The Undefeated x Air Jordan 37 Is Inspired by Military Flight Jackets
Taking cues from Undefeated's 2005 iteration of the Air Jordan 4.
[Update 20 Dec] Following the newly-announced release date, there’s also an accompanying t-shirt and basketball shorts set to join the fray. Both bear militaristic themes with Tigerstripe camouflage pattern engulfing the latter overlaid with branding elements from the vertical brand imprint on the crotch to the dual-branding on the side panel. The t-shirt bears the same graphics with Undefeated’s “5Strikes” logo dressed in Tigerstripe while overlaid with the Jumpman in orange. The back features the words “BE MORE PREPARED THAN ANYONE ELSE”. Continue scrolling for the campaign images.
[Update 19 Dec] Its been a long wait but be prepared as the Undefeated x Air Jordan 37 is set to arrive on 23rd December. With a retail price of $200, the military flight jacket inspired footwear will be made available for purchase via Nike SNKRS and selected retailers.
The Air Jordan 37 just started its release cycle recently with the “Beyond Borders” colorway kicking things off. Come the 2022-23 NBA season next month, the 37s might experience the same ubiquity its predecessor, the Air Jordan 36 has in the last season.
Featuring Jordan Brand’s newest flagship foam, the pair will see the Formula 23 foam encased within a TPU mould in the sole unit, along with a carbon fibre midfoot shank that hasn’t been seen since the AJ32. Other tech specs included in the construction is the Zoom Air Strobel unit that’s seeing more utility in some of the Swoosh’s latest basketball shoes like the Nike Air DELDON 1.
Built with mesh, suede, and other synthetic materials, Undefeated’s take on the incoming pair takes a cue from its back catalogue, from 2005’s UNDFTD Air Jordan 4. The pair is inspired by military flight jackets adopting the olive blocking with hits of orange disseminated across the upper.
Release date for the pair hasn’t yet been announced but is expected to drop by the end of the year. A retail price tag is set at US$200 however.
Elsewhere, Mimi Plange does two more unique renditions of the Nike LeBron 18 Low, turning the pair yet again into heritage art pieces—poetically named “Scarred Perfection” and ”Mad King”.
