The Sky Striker Ace arc from the Yu-Gi-Oh OCG Stories manga has served as a narrative background for many of the alternate-art Yu-Gi-Oh TCG cards of the Sky Striker archetype. However, in the case of the alternate-art Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! card first seen in Selection 5 and reprinted as a Quarter Century Secret Rare in Quarter Century Art Collection, it’s only the original’s imagery which has the connection to the manga. Nevertheless, the new version has its own appeal to the fanbase.

About Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! (Quarter Century Art Collection QCAC-JP061)

The alternate illustration of Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! depicts Sky Striker Ace – Roze. This represents a contrast with the original which shows Sky Striker Ace – Raye activating the Sky Striker technology for the first time. That scene was from Chapter 1 of Yu-Gi-Oh OCG Stories. However, although the new artwork doesn’t use the manga as a point of reference, the fact that it’s a Quarter Century Secret Rare version of a card depicting a female character is sure to garner it some level of fan appeal.

This card’s original artwork had previously been featured as one of the cover cards of Selection 5. Although the new illustration doesn’t feature on the cover of Quarter Century Art Collection as its predecessor was, those who remember this card from Selection 5 might subsequently be drawn to this newer version.

From January 2020 to June 2021, this card was banned from tournament decks due to the overwhelming power as a draw engine that it once had when used in combination with Sky Striker Ace – Kagari. However, as counterplay options began to emerge, this card was no longer regarded as game-breakingly powerful and has since had all restrictions removed.

A copy of a Quarter Century Secret Rare Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! (Quarter Century Art Collection QCAC-JP061) card carries a price tag of 3,800 JPY (~US$25).
