As clean as fresh sheets.

It’s no secret that New Balance reaches into its archives, swaps out a few parts, and rebrands the refreshed silhouette for newer audiences. They’ve done it for the 2002R by outfitting it with the 860v2 sole, and they reused this strategy to revive the 1906 model from the 00’s. Now titled the 1906R, the designs in this range have been flamboyant to say the least — gold accents, olive nubuck, Cordura enhancements, and even a reflective N logo have made an appearance on the runner.

Seeing this striking assortment, BEAMS’ has decided to take the 1906R towards a cleaner, minimal direction. White leather overlays rest atop the usual white mesh, with laces in the same color. Gray gently adds to this discreet palette in the form of tongue branding, N logo and outsole. There’s not much else to be said except that this is the most clean cut the 1906R has looked yet. Definitely for those that enjoy monochromatic palettes and simplicity in their wares.

This BEAMS x New Balance M1906 is set to drop on BEAMS on 16 September. Retail pricing is still obscure at the moment, but we’re sure more details will follow.

This is not the only New Balance that BEAMS is working on. Check out the U574L that has been colorfully doubled under BEAMS BOY.
