The 2002R has been at the vanguard of New Balance’s offerings for some time now. Every new colorway and makeup has been tried and tested, becoming not only a versatile pair for its fans, but a versatile pair for its maker. Thus, the silhouette has become a staple for all seasons—with no exception to the winter.

It wouldn’t be the first time the Massachusetts shoemaker have integrated the faux fur material onto one of their models, except this time, it’s apt. “White Fur” falls over the base layer of the 2002R as seen on the toe box and collar. It’s exposed through the tonal white pigskin suede overlays that traverses through the mudguard, profile panels, and heel counter. Just for good measure, white leather trimmings conspicuously makes its way around the pair.

Branding elements is highly contrasted to the uniform white background, directing the eyes from the tongue, the profiles, the collar, and lastly on the N-ERGY label on the sole unit.

There’s no news of an exact release date yet but looking at the shoe’s makeup, it’s expected to drop sometime in the winter—could be in the coming weeks or months; at New Balance’s brick-and-click with a retail price tag of US$150.
