As soon as other cards from sets released after it made their debuts, Primite Lordly Lode’s place in the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG metagame skyrocketed—and did demand for it and thus its value.

About Primite Lordly Lode (Rage of the Abyss ROTA-JP058)

The card which made Primite Lordly Lode an important part of the meta was Primite Dragon Ether Beryl, a card released in Supreme Darkness. With the assistance of Primite Dragon Ether Beryl, Primite Lordly Lode becomes a key piece of decks able to make use of the addition of a Normal Monster card to set up combo plays. It also serves as a way to bring Primite Drillbeam, another card from Rage of the Abyss, into play in order to negate the effects of an opposing face-up card and subsequently banish it.

At first, not even the Quarter Century Secret Rare version of Primite Lordly Lode sold for all that much money. However, as this card grew in prominence in the meta, this card’s value climbed accordingly. Today, a Quarter Century Secret Rare Primite Lordly Lode card sells for much more than it did on the set’s release day.
