Retailer Sneakersnstuff Files for Bankruptcy
Only the Swedish store is currently affected.
The sneaker world has received some disappointing news: Sneakersnstuff, a well-known retailer, has declared bankruptcy. This is a significant setback for independent sneaker businesses. The Swedish company had already closed its US and Tokyo stores in recent years and has now announced a temporary closure of its Stockholm location.
Founder Peter Jansson addressed the situation on Instagram, expressing optimism about the brand’s future and clarifying that only the Swedish store is currently affected.
Jansson thanked staff, customers, suppliers, and collaborators for their support over the past 26 years, acknowledging the challenges of recent times but emphasizing the positive aspects of the journey. He expressed confidence in their new business plan and hopes that the bankruptcy process will allow SNS to continue its operations.
Since its founding in Stockholm in 1999, Sneakersnstuff has become a major player in the sneaker industry, known for its influential role in high-profile releases, community focus, and successful collaborations. While the Stockholm store is facing difficulties, SNS will continue to operate its stores in London, Berlin, and Paris, as well as its online platform. The brand also has plans for Paris Fashion Week Men’s, encouraging support for those in attendance.
