The release of English Pokémon TCG set Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] brought with it Master Ball Mirror versions of cards which in Japanese had been from ex Starter Decks: Generations [SVM]. As those cards did not receive Master Ball Mirror versions in Japanese, these cards’ Master Ball Mirror prints are therefore English-exclusive. Among these cards, the standout has to be the Sylveon Master Ball Mirror card.

About Sylveon Master Ball Mirror (Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] 040/131)

This card’s original Japanese version came as part of Generations Start Deck Xerneas ex & Noivern ex; however, it wasn’t until its English version arrived as part of Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] that it would receive a Master Ball Mirror version. Since Master Ball Mirror versions, featuring a Master Ball print on the cards’ lower halves as well as a “cracked ice” holofoil pattern, are significantly rarer than each respective card’s ordinary iteration, such cards’ values are thus much higher than their non-Master Ball Mirror counterparts.

In addition, Sylveon is the second-most popular of all eight Eeveelutions, only trailing Umbreon. This adds further demand to the card as it depicts a major fan favorite. For that matter, Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] is itself a set centered around the Eeveelutions. On top of that, this card’s Master Ball Mirror version is exclusive to the English version; this exclusivity adds further appeal to the card.

Release Details

Although this card does have a Japanese version, its Master Ball Mirror version is English-exclusive.

The sale price of a Sylveon Master Ball Mirror (Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] 040/131) card is 12,560 JPY (~US$81).
