In recent times, Ib the World Chalice Justiciar has been a card which has been better known for gameplay reasons. At the end of 2023, the card was entirely banned from use in all Yu-Gi-Oh TCG tournament decks. Throughout the year, however, the card’s unban and subsequent loosening of restrictions would follow due to changes in the metagame and as 2024 draws to a close, the card has now had all prior restrictions lifted.

About Ib the World Chalice Justiciar (Quarter Century Trinity Box QCTB-JP043)

A significant portion of interest in this card has to do with its recent unbanning and lifting of restrictions with regard to tournament play. The version of Ib the World Chalice Justiciar released in Quarter Century Trinity Box is the first since it received its new unrestricted status. In addition, the Quarter Century Trinity Box version isn’t just a Quarter Century Secret Rare—it’s this card’s first Japanese reprint after an almost six-year span in which the Dark Neostorm version of the card was the only one to have been released.

As is often the case, this card is accorded the same value boost that many card which depict a female character receive. It’s also the penultimate card of a story told across six cards; as such, those who are interested in the narrative elements are likely to seek this card in order to complete the entire story. This card also includes references to Crowned by the World Chalice and Guardragon Justicia; the character’s physical form is a combination of both. Ib the World Chalice Justiciar also has an original DEF of 2100—the same as those of Crowned by the World Chalice and Guardragon Justiciar.
