The STAPLE x Crocs All-Terrain Clog Can’t Be Pigeonholed

Jeff Staple and his eponymous brand reunite with Crocs for their sophomore collaboration, a follow-up to the “Sidewalk Luxe” Classic Clog, that flew into the market earlier this year. The STAPLE mascot, the NYC pigeon, has been leaving its ‘mark’ on some of the most iconic sneaker silhouettes for decades now. From the Dunk SB to the most recent Reebok Instapump Fury… and they’ve all been THE absolute sh*t.

Truly, many would think the presence of pigeons unpalatable, and Crocs, for the most part, an acquired taste; but when you put them together, you get an amalgam of a pair that’s peculiar and unique, which is all that’s needed for time to turn it into a classic. For what it’s worth, wherever the STAPLE Pigeon lands, there’re usually great campaign images that document it.

In the set of photos, the Classic Clog appears in a solid black blocking with red sporadic on the EVA Foam sole unit. This All-Terrain version features a mesh netting on the forefoot to hold some of your belongings, if you will, or some Jibbitz. The default pack of trinkets comes with some items you’d commonly find randomly on the NYC streets: a metallic lighter, an earring, and even a dual-branded condom packaging, amongst other interesting things.

The partnership will produce a Homing Pigeon NFT launching in the STAPLEVERSE on 10th September, 11am, ET. 246 of them will be made and divided in the middle between STAPLEVERSE NFT holders and non-holders. Each one is bundled with a physical pair, and fans can attempt to secure one before the official launch on the 13th. Past that, they’ll have to join the raffle at crocs.com.

In other collaboration news, check out the upcoming OVO x BAPE Sta “White”. From a crocodile and a pigeon, to an owl and an ape.
