Pokémon TCG Jet Energy

Jet Energy has long been a key part of the Lugia VSTAR deck and its strategy that’s often built around Special Energy cards such as Jet Energy itself. More recently, Jet Energy has found a new home within the Pokémon TCG metagame as it’s become an important part of a new variant of the Palkia VSTAR/Terapagos ex deck.

About Jet Energy (Paradise Dragona [SV7a] 094/064)

Jet Energy supplies a single Normal-type Energy to the Pokémon to which it’s attached, then brings that Pokémon up to the Active Spot if it was originally on the Bench. When it’s part of the Lugia VSTAR deck, Jet Energy is typically attached to one of three Pokémon: Lugia V from Paradigm Trigger [S12], Iron Hands from Future Flash [SV4M], or Cinccino from Wild Force [SV5K]. These options provide the player with a first-turn draw engine, a potential second-turn one-hit KO, or damage ramping for Cinccino’s Special Roll attack respectively.

In the Palkia VSTAR/Terapagos ex deck, Jet Energy is usually used in the early game. It’s usually attached to the deck’s Pokémon with attacks or Abilities that add more Pokémon to the player’s Bench to simplify the setup process or to disrupt the opponent’s setup. Jet Energy is primarily included as counterplay to defensive decks such as the Pidgeot and Snorlax decks.

Although Jet Energy made its debut in Triplet Beat [SV1a], the version of this card which collectors are most likely to seek is the reprint from Paradise Dragona [SV7a]. This card comes in the rarity of Ultra Rare (UR) and, like all cards of the UR rarity, has a gold border and background. The Jet Energy symbol itself has this same gold border—which even extends to the background sparkles, enhancing the card’s aesthetic impact.
