[Pokémon TCG] Galarian Rapidash V (Silver Lance [S6H] 075/070) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
A card that's both a literal and figurative unicorn.
The introduction of Pokémon’s eighth region and the Galar region brought with it new Galarian regional forms of certain Pokémon. One such Pokémon was Rapidash; in its Galarian form, Rapidash would now be a Psychic/Fairy-type Pokémon instead of the Fire-type Pokémon that it was in every other region. When Galarian regional forms were also brought to the Pokémon TCG in Gen 8, the Galarian Rapidash V card from Silver Lance [S6H] ended up becoming one of its set’s standout pulls.
About Galarian Rapidash V (Silver Lance [S6H] 075/070)
Of the three versions of this card released in Silver Lance [S6H], this particular iteration is far and away the biggest draw. It isn’t difficult to understand why—it’s all about this Super Rare (SR) card’s spectacular Full Art illustration. Galarian Rapidash V is depicted with its magnificent horn aglow as it unleashes its Libra Horn attack, illuminating up an otherwise dimly-lit field and bringing the colors of the floral surroundings out to their fullest extent.
This card contains a direct reference to the Pokémon video games as well; specifically, the Crown Tundra DLC of the Pokémon Sword and Shield video games, the main-series games of Gen 8. Silver Lance [S6H] and Jet-Black Spirit [S6K], the other half of this dual set, are based on this DLC. Galarian Rapidash V is implied to be in the Old Cemetery, located in the Giant’s Bed of the Galar region’s Crown Tundra area. This is the only place in the entire Galar region where Rapidash’s Galarian form can be found in the wild; this allusion to the games is likely to impress those well-versed in Pokémon lore. Finally, since Galarian Pokémon cards were a new addition to Gen 8, this card also possesses an inherent novelty factor.
