Pokémon TCG Night Stretcher

When Item card Night Stretcher made its Pokémon TCG debut earlier this year as part of Night Wanderer [SV6a], the card was largely ignored by collectors as it only had a rarity of Uncommon (U). However, serious Pokémon TCG players were wowed by the card’s remarkable utility and versatility in gameplay. Now, with the release of an Ultra Rare (UR) version in Supercharged Breaker [SV8], Night Stretcher has become a card as fit for an impressive collection as it is for a high-level tournament deck.

About Night Stretcher (Supercharged Breaker [SV8] 137/106)

Like all other cards of the UR rarity, this Night Stretcher card has a gold-colored border and background; the Night Stretcher itself is also outlined in that color. The use of this color scheme adds a notion of prestige to the card—apt for one of its high rarity level. Interestingly, even the Poké Ball symbol on the Night Stretcher now comes in gold as well.

As has been mentioned, Night Stretcher is a core part of the Pokémon TCG metagame and is used in the majority of tournament decks. This is because it allows the player to retrieve either a Pokémon or a Basic Energy card from the discard pile and place that card in the hand, giving the player an extra resource to work with. This card is especially helpful from the mid-game onwards when discard piles tend to have more cards in them.
