Wa-tah! This Nike Dunk High “Reverse Goldenrod” is Basically Bruce Lee
Come on, the resemblance is uncanny.
[Update 25 Oct] The “Reverse Goldenrod” finally gets a release date: 31st October in Japan and 1st November globally. Lottery for the pair is currently open and will close on the 31st, 10:00 a.m. (JST).
Look us in the face and tell us that this Nike Dunk High “Reverse Goldenrod” does not look like Bruce Lee. We can almost hear it say to us, “Empty your mind. Be formless, Be shapeless. Like water.”
In all seriousness, this Nike Dunk High is a descendent of the highly utilised Goldenrod colorway, albeit in an inverted fashion. The fully leather uppers, bar the standard nylon tongue, has the Iowa Hawkeyes-like “Goldenrod” featured on the quarter panels, collars, and toebox. Black overlays make up the mudguards, eyestays, Swooshes, collars and heels. As if the black-and-yellow combo wasn’t already heavily reminiscent of the martial arts legend, branding elements on the tongue and insole are fashioned in “Habanero Red”. A call back to the red two-piece tracksuit that Bruce Lee donned in Longstreet?
Alas, despite the resemblance, it is likely that the official name for this release will remain the Nike Dunk High Reversed Goldenrod. No release dates have dropped at the moment, but we are confident that more news will arrive soon. Per usual Dunk High prices, the retail price should sit at US$120.
