Pokémon TCG Reshiram & Charizard GX

Tag All Stars [SM12a], the last seventh-generation subset of the Pokémon TCG, focused on reprinted versions of TAG TEAM card from previous Gen 7 sets. Creatures Inc. likely made this decision because they knew they’d be retiring TAG TEAM cards with the arrival of the eighth generation. A major standout among these TAG TEAM cards was the Ultra Rare (UR) version of the Reshiram & Charizard GX card.

About Reshiram & Charizard GX (Tag All Stars [SM12a] 220/173)

The first version of the Reshiram & Charizard GX card was printed as part of Double Blaze [SM10] before its reprint in Tag All Stars [SM12a]. Like all other UR cards, this version of the card has a gold background and border. Even Reshiram and Charizard’s respective body colors have in large part been taken over by this same golden hue. This infuses the card’s visuals with an air of prestige.

As a fan favorite since the very beginning of the Pokémon franchise, any card that features Charizard will almost certainly be in serious demand. Placing Charizard alongside Reshiram, a Legendary Pokémon, adds a possible narrative element—almost as though Charizard is learning from the Fire-type Legendary, seeking to unlock a new level of its incendiary powers.
