Restocks for ninth-generation Pokémon TCG sets Clay Burst [SV2D] and Snow Hazard [SV2P] have now been confirmed to be in the works. The newly restocked sets will only be available in Japan from either August or September 2024.

Of the two, the restock of Clay Burst [SV2D] will be the far greater attention-grabber. This is because the original version of the set included Iono—one of the most iconic and popular cards of recent times. When the set was first released in April 2023, Clay Burst [SV2D] went out of stock on opening day in large part due to the sheer demand for the Levincia Gym Leader’s card.

Due to this, the set would then be sold via made-to-order booster boxes on the Pokémon Center website. These booster boxes were eventually distributed between August and October 2023.

In addition to benefiting from the usual “female character value boost”, Iono is also a metagame-relevant card. Thus, there’ll be as much demand from serious players as there will from collectors once Clay Burst [SV2D] is restocked.
