2024 is ripe with mesh runners galore, and New Balance is leading the charge. The Boston-based footwear company’s 1906 lines have made a significant comeback, and successful collaborations with Action Bronson and Invincible and N.Hoolywood aren’t doing a disservice; quite the contrary, in fact.

Now, Social Status has thrown down the gauntlet with their “In Due Time” pack featuring the 1906U imagined in two distinct colorways with a common thread: a tasteful pop of Orange.

The first colorway—”Grey/Blue”—features a jersey mesh base overlaid with luxurious nubuck and leather. The upper of the shoe rocks metallic silver highlights complemented by pops of Blue on the panels, N logo, and sockliner. The midsole adheres to Blue hues and makes room for a little Orange near the toe for an eye-catching detail.

The second pair in the mix—”Grey/Orange”—is muted and plays a tad more with textures. Its woven knit base is layered with suede and leather. Talk about depth. Then, gold and black accents adorn the N logo, while a yellow pull tab on the heel adds a pop of color. To round off the shoe, a cream-colored midsole adorned with Orange detailing near the heel completes the look.

The “In Due Time” theme seems to be timepiece-inspired, something a campaign teaser featuring ring watches further hints at. This might bring to mind a similar concept explored by UK retailer size? last year, with their 1906R collaboration.
