One of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG deck archetypes which has recently been in the ascendancy is the Rescue-ACE deck. Thanks to recent shifts in the metagame, Rescue-ACE decks are now the strongest that they’ve ever been. The card that’s the centerpeice of the deck that’s become one of the meta’s newest powerhouses? Rescue-ACE Hydrant.

The primary purpose of Rescue-ACE Hydrant, a card from Deck Build Pack: Amazing Defenders, is that of adding monsters from the player’s deck to the hand. Although this card can’t add another Rescue-ACE Hydrant card to the player’s hand, a Rescue-ACE deck would nonetheless have ample options to choose from, making this card ideal for optimizing board control.

On top of that, Rescue-ACE Hydrant allows the player to activate a Quick-Play Spell or Trap Card that was set by the effect of any Rescue-ACE card on the same turn that the card in question was set. For this reason, it’s crucial to wait until another Rescue-ACE card is in play before bringing out Rescue-ACE Hydrant. Playing Rescue-ACE Hydrant at the wrong time may leave the player vulnerable to counterplay such as that provided by the Infinite Impermanence card.
