The Nike Air Max Sunder, originally known as the Air Sunder Max in 1999, is making a comeback this fall. After a 2022 collaboration with Comme des Garçons Homme Plus, the iconic zip-up design returns in new colorways as a general release from Nike.
This time around, Nike offers two options: “Deep Ocean/Gold/Deep Yellow” and “Black/Light Graphite/Grey”. The silhouette retains its original blueprint—the same zip-up closure, a mix of neoprene and technical fabric for the upper, and textured panels for added flair.
A subtle Nike Swoosh peeks out near the top of the zip, completing the look. Of course, the comfortable cushioned sole that made the Sunders so popular in the first place remains.
We’ll have to wait for official confirmation on additional updates to the rebranded silhouette. For now, the Nike Air Max Sunder is expected to retail for US$180 and will be available at select Nike stores this fall.
