[Pokémon TCG] The Prehistoric Playmaker: Archeops (S-P Promotional Cards 327/S-P)
Arguably the single best setup Pokémon in the meta right now.

The Lugia VSTAR deck is a Pokémon TCG metagame staple and a regular among the top performers at almost every tournament. It’s a strong contender for the title of “best deck in the game right now”. However, that deck could never have become the powerhouse that it did without the help of this Archeops card.
When playing this Archeops card, one important thing to remember is that it should be played directly instead of via the usual route of evolving it from an Archen; the usual Lugia VSTAR deck build doesn’t contain any Archen cards. This is because Archeops ought to be brought directly into play via Summoning Star, Lugia VSTAR’s VSTAR Power.
Once in play, Archeops’ primary role is as a setup engine. Its Ability of Primal Turbo enables the player to attach two Special Energy cards to any of the player’s Pokémon. Ideally, these Special Energy cards would go to the Cinccino card from Wild Force [SV5K] to set up its Special Roll attack. The more Special Energy cards on Cinccino, the more damage Special Roll does.
For those collecting rather than playing, the version of this card to look out for is the one from the S-P Promotional Cards. That version is a Mirror Holofoil card which was part of the Find the Legendary Pokémon! Lugia Get Challenge, a campaign held in October 2022—apt given its future key role in the Lugia VSTAR deck.
The English version of this card is card SWSH272 in the SWSH Black Star Promos.
One copy of an Archeops (S-P Promotional Cards 327/S-P) card has a price of 1,000 JPY (~US$6.40).
