[Yu-Gi-Oh TCG] 16 Years Later, Retro Pack Is Finally Launching Outside Europe [Release Date: 23 August 2024]
The rarities of each card have been changed to increase the chances of a top-tier pull.
In 2008, Konami released Retro Pack. Each copy of Retro Pack contained 3 Yu-Gi-Oh TCG booster packs containing 9 cards from a selection of 101 cards in total. It was also possible to purchase a box of 24 booster packs. However, Retro Pack was never released outside Europe and was regarded by the rest of the world’s Yu-Gi-Oh TCG community as a “lost set”—but that’s about to change.
On 23 August 2024, Retro Pack will drop in North America, ending a wait of more than 16 years. In addition, to preserve the retro aura of the set’s cards, each card’s frames, flavor texts, illustrations, and even names will be tailored to match what they would’ve been in 2008.
The standout card from the 2024 version of Retro Pack—just as was the case in 2008—will be a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon card. Not only that—the rarities of each card in the 2024 version have been changed so as to increase buyers’ chances to pull a rarer card. The rarity breakdown of all 101 cards is as follows:
- 11 Secret Rares
- 8 Ultra Rares
- 10 Super Rares
- 24 Rares
- 48 Commons
No launch date for Retro Pack has yet been confirmed for areas other than North America. Additionally, no retail prices have yet been finalized—stay with us for further information.
