Yu-Gi-Oh TCG Diabell, Fiendess of the White Woods

The White Woods archetype was one of three added to the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG in the Infinite Forbidden Core Booster. Among those cards, one of the standout pulls was the Diabell, Fiendess of the White Woods card.

The first Illusion Synchro Monster card to ever be released, this card has close ties with several other White Woods cards. The silhouette of Diabell’s right hand can be seen in the illustrations on two cards: Woes of the White Woods and Beware the White Woods. More pertinently, it has indirect connections to Asteria of the White Woods and Risette of the White Woods, the younger forms of Diabellstar the Black Witch and Diabellze the Original Sinkeeper respectively. The latter two are the cards directly related to this one.

In addition to the obvious similarities in name, this card has the same original ATK and DEF as Diabellstar and Diabellze. Its Light attribute and Illusion type, meanwhile, match those of Diabellze. Diabell’s clothing, energy, and even heterochromatic eyes have colors intended to mirror Diabellstar’s and Diabellze’s.

In addition to the wealth of Yu-Gi-Oh lore behind this card, it’s also possible for this card to come in Quarter Century Secret Rare. Then there’s also the fact that the card depicts a female character as well as its status as a card of a new archetype. All things considered, it’s not surprising that many collectors are after this card right now.

This card hasn’t yet been released in English.

The sale price of a Diabell, Fiendess of the White Woods (Infinite Forbidden INFO-JP040) card is 5,000 JPY (~US$32).
