Oversized sole designs have become prevalent in the sneaker industry in recent times, but Rei Kawakubo is set to offer another perspective with her upcoming COMME des GARÇONS HOMME DEUX x ASICS collaboration.

Highlighting the ASICS Sky Hand footwear model, the duo offers an avant-garde twist to the classic silhouette. The collaborative model features a cleaner constructive approach with its upper, removing the extra perforations on the panels, and opting for either a smooth leather or suede build.

Equipped with a thin yet durable gum sole unit, the design showcases a streamlined aesthetic as compared to its original court-intended structure. Completed with a modern touch, the pair is said to arrive in an extensive range of colorways.

No release dates have been confirmed for the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME DEUX x ASICS Sky Hand collection at this time, but it is purported to arrive in Holiday 2024, with a retail price tag of 35,200 JPY (~US$229) per pair. Stay tuned here for further updates.
