Montreal’s abstract maestro, Callen Schaub, has left his mark on a plethora of canvases. His creative journey spans decades, dabbling in everything from customizing sneakers like the Reebok Trideca and Converse Chuck Taylor to now collaborating with Saucony for what might just be his biggest shoe moment yet.
Schaub’s signature abstract style has always been a standout feature. Yet, with Saucony’s Progrid Omni 9, there’s a subtle shift. The marbled gradient that blankets the midsole, transitioning from off-white to vibrant pinks and blues, is a nod to his iconic technique. The same mesmerizing pattern dances across the upper, giving the shoe a distinctive flair without overwhelming it.
Meanwhile, the Saucony Shadow 6000 takes a more restrained approach. Schaub’s touch is evident in strategic placements—a hint of his artistry on the medial River logo and the rear heel tab. The tongue tag adds a playful splash of color, reminiscent of city lights streaking by. Yet, amidst the subtlety, the shoe maintains a clean and timeless aesthetic, blending shades of white, blue, and black effortlessly.
The two pairs from the Callen Schaub x Saucony collaboration are set to make their debut on 12 April in the EU. No official pricing just yet but do look for them in Saucony brick-and-click stores or select retailers online.
