Another of the Ancient Paradox Pokémon introduced in the ninth generation of Pokémon, Gouging Fire, the prehistoric ancestor of Entei, made its way into the Wild Force [SV5K] expansion set in Special Art Rare (SAR) form. This Gouging Fire ex card built on the immense anticipation for the Paradox Pokémon’s introduction to become a prime pull from Wild Force [SV5K].

The watercolor-esque illustration by Teeziro enables Gouging Fire ex to stand out from its background. The use of holofoil adds another layer to the card’s aesthetic experience by creating the illusion that steam is rising from the jungle floor, slightly clouding Gouging Fire ex to make it look slightly more imposing.

As an Ancient Pokémon, Gouging Fire ex makes use of one of the Pokémon TCG’s ninth generation’s new gimmicks. This adds a novelty factor to the card, especially because it’s one of the first card that feature the Ancient Pokémon status and therefore likely bumps up its value.
