Though the adidas Stan Smith started out as a tennis shoe, its appearances on Vogue covers and on streetwear influences like Kanye has propelled the model to become a classic staple seen outside of the court. Interest in the Stan Smith only increases year after year, and adidas fuels this attention by consistently releasing new colorways and collaborations. In 2022 alone, notable releases include a collaboration with Beyonce’s Ivy Park and a Japan-exclusive look.

As we move towards the later half of 2022, a new colorway has surfaced for this popular, perforated model — a versatile and classy Pale Nude. Instead of the classic white that usually dresses the upper, this adidas Stan Smith “Pale Nude” features a beige nude with complementary cool tone laces.

The tongue sees the Stan Smith branding debossed in gold. The lateral side sees the usual perforated Three Stripes and gold Stan Smith logo. However, most visually eye-catching is the heel, which has a glossy tortoise shell pattern layered atop the synthetic leather. This pattern, a flattering mix of warm browns and amber, has been a trendy design since its reappearance in 2021 on bags, glasses and nails.

Debossed onto the pattern is the signature Trefoil logo in gold foil. Paired with a neutral nude upper, this tortoise shell pattern on the heel stands out, giving the Stan Smith a unique touch.
