After the polarising release of the Destroyed Stan Smith under Balenciaga’s Demna, adidas is going back to its classic look with their newest adidas Stan Smith “Japan SMU”. Sleek and minimalistic, the three lateral stripes that define adidas is replaced with three lines of perforations. Creamy white heel tabs are complemented with pristine white faux-leather uppers. As per usual Stan Smith style, American tennis player Stan Smith is embossed on the tongue of this adidas Stan Smith Japan SMU.

Its clean outward appearance is built on a sustainable construction. 50% of its make up is “PRIMEGREEN”, a high performance recycled material. The adidas Stan Smith Japan SMU is also finished with a premium PU coating, allowing the shoe to resemble the smooth texture of real leather. The sole units, which have the adidas logo embossed on its side, is also made of waste and natural rubbers.

As its name hints at, the adidas Stan Smith Japan SMU is a Japan-exclusive release and is open for pre-order on retailers like MITA. It retails for ¥14,300 JPY (~$105 USD). The SNKRDUNK App has this pair of sneakers listed, so do check it out on release day if you are outside of Japan.
