Nike Golf swings into eco-conscious style with an overhaul of the classic Air Pegasus 89, just in time for the February 2024 Phoenix Open, sponsored by Waste Management. This limited-edition iteration throws its weight behind a novel “trash” theme.

Crinkled leather overlays at the mudguard and heel evoke discarded materials, while clear blue TPU shines on the vamp, eyestays, and collar overlay, adding a modern sheen. Underneath, a layer of ripstop nylon partially reveals a vibrant graphic of trash, driving the theme home with satire.

Accent stitching in vibrant pink frays and loosens around the upper, a deliberate imperfection that adds raw, unpolished charm and perfectly aligns with the theme of repurposing and upcycling.

The “Take out the trash” phrase cleverly emblazoned on the tongue and insole ties the narrative together, while the sockliner and outsole echo the upper’s trash graphic for a cohesive look.

The Nike Air Max Pegasus 89 Golf “Phoenix Open” is scheduled for release on 7 February 2024 to coincide with the titular tournament. Find them then on Nike’s brick-and-click stores then with an RRP of US$140.
