Pokémon fans will already know that Taipei, Taiwan is the next location to receive its own Pokémon Center, following an active Singapore branch and recalling a shuttered New York outlet. While anticipation has been brewing for months, enthusiasts finally have an opening date to look forward to—8 Dec 2023.

This launch will be accompanied by even sweeter news, especially for TCG fans. A special and exclusive Pikachu Promo Card, affectionately termed “Taipei’s Pikachu”, will be distributed at the Pokémon Center and the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Xinyi Place on 8 Dec.

The special print design, which features Pikachu dressed for summer at a night market, will be stamped with Pokemon Center Taipei’s logo. This country-specific emblem includes the store’s other mascot, Dragonite.

This Special ‘Taipei’s Pikachu’ Promo Card (SV-P 57) is reminiscent of the recent Pikachu x Van Gogh Exhibition Promo Card, released as part of a special art exhibition presented by Pokemon and the Van Gogh Museum.
