There will be two promotional cards which could come as part of either the Mega Evolution Elite Trainer Box or Mega Evolution Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box—both Elite Trainer Boxes will be released alongside the Mega Evolution [MEG] expansion set on 26 September 2025. One of those two promos is this Riolu card.

About Riolu (MEP Black Star Promos 010)

The card’s Full Art illustration depicts Riolu standing in the loft of a tall structure. Given the fact that Mega Lucario ex, the Mega-Evolved version of Riolu’s evolved form, is one of the headliners of the Mega Evolution [MEG] set as well as Mega Lucario being obtained in Gen 6 main-series Pokémon video games Pokémon X and Y at the top of the Tower of Mastery in Shalour City, this card’s illustration could perhaps be an allusion to Mega Lucario in X and Y.

A factor which will likely further add demand for this card will be its status as a promotional card exclusive to the Elite Trainer Boxes. This will be particularly true of the version from the Mega Evolution Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box as it will be the only one with the Pokémon Center logo on it.

Release Details

The Japanese version of this card will be card 068/063 from Mega Brave [M1L]; it will be released alongside the rest of Mega Brave [M1L] on 1 August 2025.

The sale price of a Riolu (MEP Black Star Promos 010) card will only be known once the first copies have made it to the open market.
